Substrate, hides, water bowls, and first-week essentials for one intake.
Sponsor at $25Every animal deserves a safe second chance.
Second Shed provides rescue intake, rehabilitation, rehoming support, and educational resources for reptiles and exotic animals.
Rescue is more than intake. Recovery requires informed care.
Many rescued animals require medical treatment, quarantine supplies, heating systems, UVB lighting, and rehabilitation care. Contributions directly support their recovery — not administrative overhead.
All financial contributions support animal care directly: resources, materials, veterinary care, and the staff time required to make recovery possible.

“Rescue is more than intake. Recovery requires informed care.”
Quarantine. Every intake is held in dedicated quarantine until cleared.
Enrichment. Naturalistic enclosures with appropriate substrate, hides, climbing, and humidity gradients.
Veterinary care. Working relationships with reptile-experienced vets for parasitology, imaging, and surgical work.
Enclosure standards. We help you rebuild enclosures to species-appropriate dimensions and equipment before placement.
Welfare-first. We will turn down a placement if welfare can’t be assured. We won’t place an animal at risk.
Provide a responsible permanent home
Adoption is matchmaking. We pair animals with adopters whose experience, enclosure, and lifestyle fit the species — and we stay available after placement.
If we don't have your dream reptile at the moment, still send an inquiry, and we'll keep you in mind as we get new arrivals.
